Now, everyone is always concerned about time, namely, having too little time. Too many things take up too much time. Errands take time, laundry takes time, meals take time. Add a child or two into the mix and time is of even greater importance. As Benjamin Franklin said, "Lost time is never found again." However, I would have to disagree with Mr. Franklin because of one crucial reason; Benjamin Franklin did not have the Internet. Since I don't believe this quote to be true, the question must be asked; how do I propose we win back our lost time? As far as I'm concerned, it is in this realm of free colouring pages that save the day. The first coloring book, "The Little Folks' Paint Book" was published in 1879. Crayola introduced the crayon in 1903. And the average American child spends 28 minutes a day coloring and wears down about 730 crayons by the age of 10. Between parents and schools, roughly 2.5 billion crayons are purchased each year. Color is an expression of life, and the living. Imagine a world without color? The basic of every color is black and white. We all know theta it is from the basic white light that gives us the bright and colorful rainbow with seven variety colors.

Minnie was designed in the fashion of a flapper girl. Her main outfit consisted of a short flapper girl dress that often revealed her distinctive patched knickers. In the 1929 cartoon The Karnival Kid, it was also revealed that she wears black stockings which were also fashionable among flapper girls. Her shoes are probably her most distinctive article of clothing. For comedic effect, she wears oversized high heeled pumps that are too big for her feet. Her heels often slip out of her shoes, and she even loses her shoes completely in The Gallopin’ Gaucho. When she walked or danced, the clip clop of her large pumps was usually heard clearly and often went with the rhythm of the music that was played in the background. Along with Mickey, she was redesigned in 1940. Her hat was replaced with a large bow, and bows were added to her shoes as well. Her eyes were also given more detail. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, her look and personality became more conservative. Minnie almost always wears red or pink, but in her early appearances, she could be seen wearing a combination of blue, black or green (when not depicted in black and white).

Occasionally, you'll find official cartoon or TV character sites (such as PBS programs) will make available coloring pages for free to their fans. And there are many other sites that distribute coloring pages of those copyrighted characters. Sounds like dangerous legal ground ...but, surprisingly, I've never heard of any of these sites being prosecuted for copyright infringement. So they'll probably continue to make them available. Teachers and parents can find an abundance of reinforcement for things they are teaching in educational coloring pages. Children can be instructed in their colors, the alphabet, shapes, seasonal occasions, as well as spiritual education to be strengthened in church or at home. When kids are just starting to familiarize themselves with the names and the use of its colors, be sure that parents are there to guide them. You can begin to teach them the basic color of Dora's hair and clothes. Manny and his talking team of tools will help anyone at a moments notice although his next door neighbour Mr Lopart is too proud to ask for help and always gets himself embarrassed by his efforts! Pride before a fall as they say.
